PUBLIC HOUSING PROGRAM

 

The Housing Authority owns and operates approximately 726 conventional Public Housing dwellings which are subsidized by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).   These Public Housing units are located in 15 buildings and developments in Dauphin County, outside the City of Harrisburg.  (Please also refer to the Public Housing section of this website for additional information.)

 

SECTION 8 HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER PROGRAM

 

The Authority also administers the Federal housing subsidy program known generally as Section 8, but also know as the Housing Choice Voucher Program .  Thorough the Section 8 Program low income participants live in private rental housing throughout Dauphin County. The Housing Authority is currently assisting more than 1,000 clients through the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program. BALDWIN VILLAGE

 

Baldwin Village is a 12 unit development located in Swatara Township and owned by Mohn Street Accessible Housing, Inc. (MSAH), a non-profit entity .  The Housing Authority manages and maintains Baldwin Village under contract with MSAH.  Baldwin Village  is designed for and intended for lower income persons with physical disabilities.
